Over 50 nurses posted to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital are reported stranded.
With some coming from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions these nurses were expected to report on May 16 to begin employment. Though they admit there was no verbal agreement between them and the Ministry of Health over the posting, they were all listed to work at the hospital and had to report on Monday as per the instructions.

Meanwhile authorities say the hospital has exceeded its employment quota for nurses and thus cannot take in these nurses. The development was confirmed by president of the Coalition of Unemployment Nurses who claims the hospital has told them their placement cannot be guaranteed.
