Police intercept 32 boxes of ammunition at Kintampo

The Police in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region on Friday intercepted a bus loaded with 32 boxes of ammunition en route to Bunkprugu in the Northern Region.

The bus was travelling from Kumasi when it was intercepted at Kintampo upon a tipoff, according to a report by Accra-based Adom FM.

The police said the owner of the consignment, Suuk Kanbari, 41, the driver, Collan Kanbari, 36, and one other person, Suvum Kolan, were initially arrested.

However, they said Suuk Kanbari managed to escape, but was re-arrested the following day.

The police said their search revealed that the consignment contained 800 pieces of ammunition.
