Gifty Twum-Ampofo, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North has been sworn in as MP on Tuesday.

It was the second sitting of the fourth session of the sixth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The new NPP MP succeeds Joseph Boakye –Danquah who was murdered in his bedroom at dawn on February 9, 2016 by a 19-year-old assailant which necessitated a bye-election to be held per the constitution’s requirements.

She was sworn in by the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Edward Doe Adjaho who welcomed members back to the House after an eight week recess.
