Mahama, first lady arrive in Japan for bilateral talks

Bilateral talks between President Mahama and Japan prime minster Shinzo Abe are about beginning as the president and first lady arrive in Tokyo, Japan.

Both leaders will sign a new cooperation agreement and also address a joint press briefing in Tokyo. The president and his wife Lordina will also meet with other  royals as the Majesties, Emperor and Empress of Japan during the official visit to the Asian country this week.

Her Excellency the First Lady will also meet with the spouse of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Akie Abe on Wednesday and address a meeting with the wives of African Heads of Mission in Tokyo, Female Ambassadors and Leaders of Japanese Women Groups. Accompanying the President are the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hanna S. Tetteh (MP), Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini (MP), Deputy Minister for Finance Mona Quartey and Deputy Minister for Local Government & Rural Development, Emmanuel Agyekum.

Japan is documented to have made contributions to Ghana’s health, agricultural, infrastructural and social services sectors in the past years.
