GFA bans FIFA referee Agbovi for eight matches

Referee William Agbovi

Referee Agbovi earned the ban after his alleged failure to award a penalty to Wa All Stars against Medeama in the 88th minute of their Ghana Premier League Match day 10 game played in Tarkwa, according to a report by Ghanasoccernet.com.

The ban took effect on Monday.

Referee Solomon Mordey and his assistant, Michael Asare, have also been banned for four and six matches respectively, the report said.

The match review panel found the referee to have awarded a foul against an Aduana Stars attacker when he should have awarded the foul against a Liberty Professionals striker in  85th minute of the match, the report added.
