The Brong Ahafo region recorded a total of 109 deaths in road accidents in the first quarter of 2016.
This was revealed by the regional DVLA director, Antwi Bosompem. According to him out of the 109 deaths, 28 pedestrians deaths were also recorded.
He however, described the situation as “very alarming”.
Antwi Bosompem advised pedestrians to wear bright-coloured outfits so drivers can easily notice them when they use the road at night.

In February this year over 60 people perished in a fatal car crash which occurred on the Tamale-Kintampo road in the Brong Ahafo region.
Between January and June in 2015 there were 135 deaths recorded in the same region.
