Japan has revealed plans to construct an advanced medical center mainly for infectious diseases in Ghana.
The agreement was made during bilateral talks between President Mahama and the Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. This agreement will also see the construction of a bridge over the Volta Lake in the southern sector as part of the Eastern corridor road network and an extension of Japan's scholarships to Ghana.
President Mahama said the agreements will go a very long way to advance the bilateral relations between the two countries, which said has been very strong over the years. The new advanced medical centre is expected to help Ghana to further play a pivotal role in health research across the West African sub region.
