The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says President John Mahama will not participate in the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) presidential debate scheduled for September.
This was revealed by the deputy general secretary of the party, Koku Anyidoho, who accused the IEA of disrespecting the NDC and its national organiser, Kofi Adams, a report by citifmonline said on Thursday.
“IEA cannot disrespect the National Organiser of the party, it cannot disrespect the structures of the party. Let them continue to disrespect themselves and deal with individuals but the NDC is a very disciplined structure and nobody can disrespect us…We will not participate in the IEA debate,” he said.
Meanwhile a member of the NDC legal team, Abraham Amaliba, has also indicated that the president will attend a general assembly meeting at the UN at the same time that the IEA debate is supposed to hold and so would not participate in the debate.
