The minister for youth and sports, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has urged sports journalists to refrain from cult and idol worshipping in the course of their duty, according to a report by sports24gh.com.

He urged sport journalists to think about the image of the sports rather than the images of personalities in the sport, adding they must be careful about what we put on paper, the report said.
The minister, who is himself a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) applauded the association for maintaining a positive standard over the years, the report added.
