Police arrest student for smuggling 'wee' to his uncle in jail

An 18-year-old man, James Ndego has been sentenced to one year imprisonment upon attempting to smuggle Indian hemp to his uncle in jail.

Prior to his sentence Ndego pleaded with the high court judge for leniency saying he was a student who had to go back to continue his education but Justice Kocuvie-Tay said she took into consideration the fact that Ndego had spent close to two and half years on remand and that he needed to continue his schooling, adding that he had also been obedient and respectful throughout proceedings in court.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvanus Dalmeida narrating the development says the Ndego had concealed the narcotic drug in a pair of slippers which upon confiscation and investigation proved to contain Indian hemp.
