Doctors of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) have made known their intentions to lay down their tools effective Monday, May 23 as they complain over unpaid fuel allowances.
Head of the hospital's management Prosper Akambong is expected to meet the frustrated doctors over their demand as part of efforts to labour unrest. Meanwhile a petition by the workers reveals that management has failed to fulfill its promise of paying the accumulated arrears after a similar intended strike was suspended on April 20, 2016.
The delivery of health care services is most likely to be affected should workers continue with their decision to embark on the strike action. The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) remains the focal point of health care delivery to thousands of patients in the Tamale metropolis.
