Rev Yaw Frimpong-Manso, the immediate past moderator of the Presbyterian church of Ghana, has addressed a press conference in Accra on Monday where he told the media that he decided to sever relations with the church because of the unfair treatment meted out to him.
He also denied the accusation that he had blessed a gay marriage at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Reformed Church of the presbytery of New York in the United States of America where he currently serves.
Rev Frimpong-Manso was delegated by the Presby church to serve with the Emmanuel presbytery in New York but the church later recalled him through a letter signed by Rev Emmanuel Martey urging him to abandon the ‘pro-homosexual’ church and return home.

Rev Frimpong-Manso wrote to inform the church that the Emmanuel presbytery had extended his status as a designated pastor for six years and as such he had resigned from the Presby church in Ghana with retrospective effect from April 1, 2015.
