Juliana Obeng, the Tema Regional Police Command Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said the exercise was part of efforts of the police to get rid of notorious criminals in the area whose activities posed danger to innocent people, especially children.

The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly Task Force has demolished the structure where the suspects were arrested.  The task force explained at a press gathering that the structure was an unauthorised one and the exercise formed part of its effort to rid the municipality of such hideouts that promoted the drug trade.
