Have you wondered how cheating has evolved in recent times? Have you sought to know the cheating methods that are in vogue now?
Well, some Quora users have shared some insight into the latest cheating techniques.
Quora is a question-and-answer website where questions are asked, answered, edited and organised by its community of users.
Here are five ingenuous ways students cheat in order to secure an advantage in examinations.
1. Invisible Light:
A user by name Manish John, who described himself as a gamer, said as a student, he would enter the exam hall before the exams started and use an invisible pen to write down cheats on the table and the wall.
He said when the teacher was not looking during the exams, he used the light to see the cheats.
According to Manish, the technique was not that effective because some writings would go off.
2. Storing cheats onto calculator:
The same user stated that he used to have a calculator which could store text files in it via a USB cable. He said it was also not a reliable plan because some invigilators knew that that particular calculator model was not allowed.
3. Smart devices
Camille Ferré wrote that some students attempting to enter a medical university in Thailand recently, employed smart devices in their bid to outwit invigilators.
He said: "A student went in the classroom with a camera integrated inside his glasses. The video was directly sent to other students that weren't taking the exam, therefore giving them all the questions. Those students then looked for and wrote down all the answers, and sent them to some other students that were actually taking the test, directly on their apple watch.
"The whole exam got cancelled and all the students have to take it again. The students that got caught are forbidden from ever trying to enter medical university again."
4. Writing notes on wattle bottle
Morgan Evans, who describes himself as a haking the wrapper off a water bottle, writing answers or notes on the inside of it, and taping it back on. According to him, the water water bottle would be placed on their desk during exams for easy access to cheats.
He said students could also write answers on an eraser or their their arm, hand or bottom of their foot.
One student put minute algebraic answers on their nail
5. Pasting notes on water bottles
Kim Ly also stated that another technique was to print revision notes on a water bottle label.
"This is probably pretty easy to get away with because even standardized tests allow water bottles on your testing area," she wrote.
