ECG undermining the hard work of Mahama

The NDC member of parliament for the Asawase constituency, Muntaka Mubarak is accusing the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) of deliberately sabotaging the good work and efforts of President Mahama in the power sector.

According to the majority chief whip the recent irregularities in the billing system of the ECG is a clear indication of fighting the efforts of the government.

Speaking on the floor of parliament on Tuesday, Muntaka said the ECG must answer for the unreasonable and astronomical increases in electricity bills.

“The overall effect of this is that, the efforts of his Excellency John Dramani Mahama to permanently solve the long-standing power crisis is being hampered,” he stated.

He further intimated that the cost of consumption which has more than doubled in some cases has imposed untold hardship on all Ghanaians and is unacceptable.

The Electricity Company of Ghana in recent times have been hit with error in the billing of the newly installed pre-paid meters.
