The Ashanti Regional police command says it has identified a group of robbers who shot and killed two people, including a policeman, during separate robbery operations in Kumasi recently.
DCOP Kofi Boakye, the police commander, said five people who belonged to two separate robbery groups were responsible for the Denchemuoso and Kokoben robbery incidents, according to a report by the Daily Guide.
He said although the police had identified them, their identities would not be disclosed until they were arrested.
He said police investigations had determined that the robbers, who he said operate with AK47 assault rifles and shoot their victims without provocation, were “new in the robbery business”.
