The flagbearer of the Independent Peoples Party, Kofi Akpaloo, has accused the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of collapsing his businesses.
Akpaloo told Kumasi-based Ultimate FM on Friday that his businesses were targeted by the NPP after he contested the Manhyia Constituency parliamentary election as an independent candidate against Dr Kwame Addo Kuffour in 2004.
He said all his businesses were sabotaged by the NPP and that the party destroyed everything he had.
He said one of the companies affected was a financial services company.
Akpaloo said the then ruling party incited depositors to withdraw their money from the company, leading to its collapse.
“They sat on radio to incite people. They deliberately did that to collapse my businesses. Bobie Ansah, formerly of Hello FM, Kofi Diakwa of Luv FM - these are the people they used to sabotage me,” he was quoted as saying.
Akpaboo is well-known in Kumasi for setting up the 'Presdel Susu Scheme' which collapsed a few months after he failed in his parliamentary bid.
The 45-year-old said if he wins the upcoming November presidential election, he will work towards creating jobs for unemployed youth in the country.
