New Edubiase club president Abdul Salaam Yakubu says he is considering quitting football due to the club’s inadequate funds.
New Edubiase United are billed to play Tarkwa based Medeama and the club’s chief has indicated that his side will not travel to Tarkwa for their GPL fixture on Sunday.
The Bekwai-based side who are currently perched at the bottom of the league log are said to be owing players salaries over a period since the death of their chief financier David Lamptey in 2012.
The Ghanaian side has their plight worsened due to the game running without a sponsor for months.
The financial crisis at the club has since worsened and the club president has revealed they have no option than to boycott the league.
"I don't have enough funds to continue the ongoing Ghana Premier League so I have quit," he told Accra-based Happy FM.
The First Capital Bank abrogated the contract with the FA and most Ghanaian clubs have lamented the withdrawal of the sponsor.
