The Roads and Transport committee says over 500 Metro Mass Transit (MMT) buses out of the total of 1,079 have broken down.
The disturbing revelation was made when the Roads and Transport committee of Parliament paid a working visit to the state transport firm on Monday. Member of the committee, Samuel Ayepaye, said the committee had thus asked for a comprehensive report on the situation to enable it take a decision on the way forward.

Meanwhile the ministry of transport together with officials of the transport firm are yet to make an official statement over the development.
