Mahama in Ivory Coast for highest national award

President John Dramani Mahama will be in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, today for an official visit at the invitation of that country's president, Alasanne Ouattara.

He will be accompanied by his wife, Lordina, and a high powered government delegation, according to a statement issued by the Flagstaff House.

Mahama will hold talks with Ouattara and will be decorated with Ivory Coast’s highest national award.

The statement said the president will also receive the 'key to Abidjan' and an honorary citizenship of Ivory Coast.

Mahama is scheduled to return to Accra on Thursday.

In March, the president was awarded an honorary Doctor of Law in Scotland by the University of Aberdeen.
