A polling station chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Apotuogya DA Primary in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region has been shot dead.
Baah Tweneboah, popularly known as Agya Baah, was shot dead by suspected robbers in his home at about 9pm on Tuesday, according to a report by tv3network.com.
The three robbers reportedly trailed Baah Tweneboah to the house and attacked him, ordering him to surrender his money.
The attack reportedly happened just as his children rushed to open the gate for him.
Gunshots were heard a few minutes later and the NPP chairman was discovered dead, the report said, citing eyewitnesses.
The report also quoted Baah Tweneboah's wife, Esther Adomako, as saying that the robbers brutalised the husband, slapped her and injured some of their six children.
She said at one point, her husband shouted and she saw that he was in a pool of blood.
She said phones and laptops were stolen in the attack, but that she suspected foul play.
