The officials had gone there to value the houses as part of the government's effort to retrieve GHC51 million that the Supreme Court says was illegally paid to Woyome.

Although the court in 2014 ordered that he refunds the money to government chest, he has failed to do so, despite several promptings from the state.

The situation has compelled the A-G to initiate plans to sell Woyome's house in order to defray the debt.

The first step involved valuing the house in preparation for auction, a move that Woyome blocked today.

The businessman later told Accra-based Joy FM that he prevented the officials from valuing the property because such an action would constitute an illegality.
