A wreath-laying ceremony to mark the 37 anniversary of the June 4 uprising will be held at the Revolution Square in Accra on Saturday, June 4.

According to a statement issued by the anniversary planning committee, the occasion will be marked on the theme, “Revolution, The Hard Road To Democracy”, and will be addressed by former president Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings, leader of the uprising and the 31st December, 1981 revolution.

The committee also urged all attending the event, including cadres, sympathisers of the revolution, members of the general public and the media to be assembled by 7am to ensure a prompt start of the short memorial event.

Other leading members and cadres of the uprising and the revolution will be expected to grace the occasion.
