A Neoplan bus with registration number GM 4150-14 traveling from Accra to Walewale in the Upper West Region is said to have veered of its lane and killed five persons onboard at Abepotia on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi Highway.
Three of the victims died on the spot while two were pronounced dead at the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital, where the victims were rushed to.
Police personnel of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) told newsmen that the bus jumped off its lane after running over a speed ramp and crashed into a Daf petrol tanker with registration number GR 4100-M.

The TV3 network source said nine of the accident victims including a pregnant woman who are reported to be in a critical condition have been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Mavis Frempong, the Eastern Regional minister who arrived at the accident scene commended the hospital staff and the National Ambulance for their quick response.
Most of the accident victims were said to be Muslims travelling for the start of the Ramadan.
