The leader and founder of Glorious Waves Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has denied news reports that he predicted a ‘one-touch’ victory for President John Mahama in the November elections.
“There will not be a second round; John Mahama will get 50% plus... but I saw us voting till the next day which is 8th; which simply means some places across the country will vote the next day,” he was quoted as having said at the weekend.
Prophet Kobi’s comments drew condemnation from supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
But speaking to Accra-based Atinka FM on Monday, he said he did not predict a victory for Mahama.
According to him, he rather reported a vision that there would be an attempt to rig the election in favour of one of the candidates and that it could lead to violence.
"The issue of President Mahama winning 'one-touch' never came up at all,” he said.
He said he had also asked members of his congregation to pray and avert his vision of violence and bloodshed during the elections.
