Kumasi's 19 notorious robbers named

The Ashanti regional police command have declared 19 armed robbers notorious and wanted. The police in the region Monday announced the arrest of 10 suspected robbers also.

According to the police the arrested suspects included a woman described as financier of the criminals.

The regional deputy commander, ACP Osei Ampofo Duku,  in an interaction with journalists in Kumasi said the robbers have been working in four syndicated groups with the first group made up of eight members, only two has been arrested.

“Those on the run are Baby Last, Solo, Adepa and Hamidu. Others are Bona also known as Yebedi bone awu and Killer,” he noted.

The second group is made up of Obuasi and Anwia Nkwanta based Abdulai, Tofik or Wadada and one Kofi of Poano.

ACP Ampofo Duku further lamented that the third group of robbers who operates in the region is made up of Djallo Dzani of Ejisu, Azumah Yahaya, Mallam Lawyer and Sarikin.

The fourth group, led by dismissed police officer with an AK 47 assault rifle in his possession has been described as a “deadly” group. He is supported by Salou-also known as AK and Tanko, an ex-convict who are all at large.
