The family of Muhammad Ali who passed away last Friday have revealed that Lenox Lewis and Will Smith will be will be part of the 8 pallbearers at the funeral of Muhammad Ali. Will Smith was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Ali in the 2001 film of the same name and remained close with the former boxer until his death.
The other pallbearers will be Jerry Ellis, the brother of Jimmy Ellis, Ali's former sparring partner and fellow world heavyweight champion, Ali's cousins John Grady and Jan Wadell, nephew Ibn Ali, former brother-in-law Komawi Ali and family friend John Ramsey.
The funeral which will be taking place this Friday will be held in his home town of Louisville, Kentucky.
It will be preceded by a Jenazah - an Islamic funeral prayer programme - on Thursday at the Freedom Hall, where Ali made his winning professional debut.
Friday's service will be attended by a number of world leaders, heads of state and celebrities. Among the speakers at Ali's funeral will be Malcolm X's daughter Attalah Shabazz, wife Lonnie Ali, eldest daughter Maryum, American actor Billy Crystal, former US president Bill Clinton and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey.
The funeral will be held at the KFC YUM in Louisville and will stream live on the internet 18:00 GMT
