Ghana was plunged to darkness during the early hours of Wednesday following the damage to one of the transmission lines of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo).
The blackout which is said to be caused by Tuesday's heavy downpour affected four regions including that of the Greater Accra.
“The main fault is from the Tafo Akwatia where as a result of a rainstorm the main line has been shuttered. Fortunately they have identified the problem to be from the Tafo Akwatia main line to solve the challenges. So we are looking at the end of today for the power to be restored,” deputy power minister, John Jinapor revealed.
Meanwhile, engineers are working around the clock to fix the problem.
