Residents threaten to burn cars of their MP

Angry residents at the New Edubiase constituency of the Ashanti Region have threatened to set the vehicles of their member of parliament, Ernest Kofi Yankah and district chief executive, Benjamin Anhwere on fire over failed campaign promises.

Reports show both politicians had promised to provide electricity to residents of the area but failed to do so after several years.

“We have been living in darkness for the past years and these MPs always come to our town to campaign and promise us but they end up deceiving us and not fulfilling their promises. We can longer wait and so we are not going to allow them to campaign in our various towns because as we are getting closer to elections, they will be coming in their numbers. In fact, we will burn their cars if they dare visit our town,” the angry residents stated.
