Accra Floods: Soldiers rescue flood victims with boat

Soldiers from the 48 Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces helped rescue trapped flood victims at Adabraka in Accra, following Thursday’s heavy downpour.

The rains which began at about 4am in the morning persisted throughout the day.

Several areas of the capital are flooded, with individuals and businesses counting their losses.

A three-year-old girl in Tema is feared to have drowned in rapid waters, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.

Shalom Okyerera was reportedly seen being carried away by the flood waters but residents in the area could not rescue her.
