Founder and flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP) Papa Kwesi Nduom says he will hold President John Mahama responsible for the shortfalls of the AMA boss.
According to him the Accra Mayor’s inability and failure to deal and solve the perennial flooding in the capital, Accra is because of the president’s stubborn faith in his appointee, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije.
Speaking on Accra based Joy FM, Friday, the PPP man said: “If the Mayor of Accra does not do his job, it is the President who must make him do his job”.
“Who is responsible for managing Accra? Making sure there is proper drainage? And today if you ask that question it is only one person – John Dramani Mahama … he has the responsibility and he is the one who appoints.”

Dr Nduom’s comment comes on the back of the renewed discussion on the flood menace Accra continues to experience. Most parts of the capital flood on Thursday after about 6 hours of rains.
Dr Nduom used the recurring disaster and the failure of city authorities as proof of the need for the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives.
He opined that this way we can hold somebody who is in that geographic entity, responsible.
