CODEO suggests 139 centers registered unqualified voters

The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has revealed that several unqualified persons were registered at about 139 registration centers during the limited voter registration exercise held in April this year.

In its final report on the observation of the registration exercise, CODEO revealed that its observers reported instances of registration of minors, foreigners, and people who were not from the communities in which they registered with  five regions recording the highest number of these cases, namely Northern (30 cases), Ashanti (23 cases), Volta (22 cases), Brong Ahafo (18 cases), and Western Region (17 cases).

The revelations ,made by the coalition follows heightened concerns over the credibility of the limited voters registration exercise as some political analysts say the exercise was marred by several forms of irregularity.
