An Accra circuit court has adjourned the assault case involving former Black Stars defender, John Paintsil to Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
The case was adjourned because the prosecutor failed to produce the docket for the case in court today.
Paintsil is facing charges of stealing, offensive conduct and assault of a police officer after he was reported to have slapped the East Legon district police commander, DSP Emmanuel Basintale during interrogation in a case of car theft reported against him by his wife.
The prosecutor pleaded with the court to adjourn the case to allow for proper preparation. He opined that there was a misunderstanding as to when the case will commence.
The court then granted the prosecution's request after lawyer for John Paintsil, Kojoga Adawudu agreed on the adjourned date.
