Black Stars of Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has indicated he will take legal action against Montie FM’s journalist for defamation and peddling of falsehood.
The radio show host, Mugabe is said to have alleged the Black Stars captain is a financier of the NPP, adding that the Shanghai SIPG striker had imported arms and machetes to support the biggest opposition party’s campaign.
But Gyan in an interview on another radio station, Hot FM Thursday, said the journalist should leave him out of politics.
“He should concentrate on his politics and leave the sports people alone. He should be ready because I have spoken to my lawyer regarding his irresponsible comment,” Gyan told Hot FM.

"I'm a footballer not a politician, so Mugabe should get that into his head. What he is doing is not journalism, I have a lot of respect for the industry but people like him want to destroy it.
"Mugabe is an irresponsible journalist, he has a psychological problem, those claims are totally false,” he said.
