The husband of popular Ghanaian gospel singer Anita Afriyie was arrested on Monday for raiding Karmodey Music Shop in Kumasi.
Daniel Kwabena Osei Jnr, who is also producer of the gospel musician, had gone to the music shop to collect debt owed him by the outlet. An eyewitness told Kasapaonline.com that Robert, a worker at the Karmodey Music Shop failed to pay the amount due, hence Daniel Kwabena Osei's decision to seize some CDs from the shop.
Detective Ankra from Sofoline Police Station who confirmed the arrest on Metro FM said police rushed to Karmodey Music Shop when they received a call from the owner on Monday around 3:30pm that someone was damaging his goods. They thus arrested 'Dan Kay' as he is affectionately known to Sofoline police Station.
"When I went back to the shop to access the damage caused, I returned late so we couldn’t grant him bail. The issue was transferred to Suame Police Station on Tuesday so after our investigations, we realised that the root cause was monetary problem between Karmodey’s worker called Robert and Dan Kay about one of Anita Afriyie’s songs. Police asked of the actual figure involved so Commander told them to return on 21st June to know how best the issue can be solved,” Detective Ankra narrated.
Dan Kay has been granted bail.
