Top notched politicians in Ghana have expressed their condolences to president Mahama following the death of his mother, Abiba Nnaba.
Among the politicians were the leadership of parliament led by the Speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho, suspended NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko, national NDC chairman, Kofi Portuphy and a host of others.
Mother of President Mahama, Abiba Nnaba Mahama, died on Tuesday in Accra after a prolonged illness.
The founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Nduom, also shared a message of sympathy on Facebook.
“My heartfelt condolence and sympathy to President John Dramani Mahama on the passing of his mother. Mothers are special and it brings great grief to lose them. May the Almighty console the President and his family, and may He grant his mother eternal rest,” Dr Nduom said.
Hajia Fatima Abiba Nnaba will be buried in Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region, Accra-based 3fm reported on Thursday, citing family representatives. The site of her burial had been the subject of agitation, according to media reports
