The chief of Agona Kwanyako, Nana Ampim Darko V, has assured the the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, that he will the presidential elections on his third attempt in November.
Nana Ampim Darko V told Akufo-Addo, when the NPP leader paid a courtesy call on him, as part of his tour of the Central Region, that his third attempt at winning the presidency amounts to good omen from the gods because “one has to go before the gods three times before a request can be granted”.
“When you appear before the gods continuously for the third time, they will not fail you because in the initial stages they were trying your patience,” he said.
He said Akufo-Addo had exhibited faith and patience and so power would be entrusted into his hands.
“This is your third visit to Kwayako, and I am very certain that we will all hear good news this year,” he added.
In his response, Akufo-Addo thanked the chief for his words of support encouragement and pledged that the NPP would conduct a decent campaign and would not engage in acts that could undermine the peace of the country.
