President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that his eight-year-old daughter made him smile when she tried to console him on the loss of his mother, Hajia Fatima Abiba Nnaba.
In a tweet, the president said Farida Mahama told him to be cheerful because he still had her.
Madam Nnaba died at the age of 85 on Tuesday after a short illness. She is set to be buried be at Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region on Friday (today).
Following her death, President Mahama tweeted that he would forever miss her.

Ghanaians have been commiserating with him on his loss.
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, was at his residence to mourn with him.
The founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Nduom, also shared a message of sympathy.
“My heartfelt condolence and sympathy to President John Dramani Mahama on the passing of his mother.
“Mothers are special and it brings great grief to lose them. May the Almighty console the President and his family, and may He grant his mother eternal rest,” Dr Nduom said in a statement.
On Thursday, the family of the former president, Jerry John Rawlings, visited President Mahama at his residence to condole with him.
