Hundreds of mourners from all across the country joined the President John Mahama and his family to pay their last respect to the late mother of the first family and lay her to rest in her hometown, Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region.
The late Hajia Abiba Nnaba, died in Accra on Tuesday, and the remains were airlifted to Busunu Friday for burial in line with Islamic doctrines.
The burial was officiated by the Chief Imam of Busunu, Alhaji Ibrahim Iddrisu and the Muslim Ulamah.

The Mahama family including President Mahama , Alfred Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, witnessed the burial at the private residence of the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba.
Also in attendance were top NDC executives like: Doe Adjaho, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, National Democratic Congress (NDC) national chairman, Kofi Portophy, NDC general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and other members.
