British man dies from excessive drinking in Kumasi

A 36-year-old British citizen has died at the Golden Tulip hotel in Kumasi.

According to a Pulse.com.gh news report the deceased collapsed and died after hours of engaging in binge drink at the hotel where he was lodging.

The deceased is reported known as Mark Thomas Ritchie. An eyewitness told Pulse.com.gh that the deceased had been upset by the death of the British MP, Jo Cox and kept speaking about her whilst drinking at the bar of the plush hotel.

Superintendent Jonathan Lamptey, Kumasi Central district commander who confirmed the news  said:  "yes it is true. The station officer is with my men at  Komfo Anokye now where they took the body."

He however said the police is yet to establish the cause of death and when he died.
