President John Mahama has wished Ghanaian fathers well on the occasion of Father's Day which is being celebrated today, June 19, across the world.
In a tweet on Sunday, the president said that, on behalf of all Ghanaians, he was wishing all “our hardworking, loving fathers” a happy father's day.
In a second tweet, President Mahama paid tribute to his late father, Emmanuel Adama Mahama, describing him as his advisor and corner man.
Father’s Day is a day of the year on which fathers are particularly honoured by their children.
It was first observed in the state of Washington in 1910; in the US, South Africa, and Britain, it is usually the third Sunday in June, in Australia, the first Sunday in September.
