Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, the Central Regional minister has stated at a “Government for the People” forum in Cape Coast that the Komenda sugar factory would start bagging sugar for sale beginning Monday.
The Komenda Sugar factory inaugurated in May has been at the receiving end of political debates with many analysts claiming the factory whose revival had been key on President John Mahama’s agenda of bringing back to life collapsed factories, would not stand the test of time.
The minister exhibited two containers of sugar which he stated were from the factory.
He noted that government would prioritize the efficient maintenance of these factories to prevent them from collapse.
The “Government for the People” forum is a series of public fora initiated by government which seeks to educate the public on government policies and programmes.
