Captain of the Ghana Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan is not relenting on his fight against Ghanaian journalists any time soon. The footballer who won the Sports Man of the Year at the maiden edition of Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards had a rather strong message to journalists he termed ‘irresponsible’.
The captain’s message was delivered by his manager, Samuel Anim Addo who received the award on behalf of Asamoah Gyan. The message called for the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and National Media Commission bring irresponsible journalists to book.
He said: “…and the irresponsible journalists who have been attacking him continuously, he says he is telling the GJA and the National Media Commission to wake up and put a check on these people and save this country. This country deserves better. Great men who are working and helping the economy should be supported; they shouldn't me destroyed.”
Asamoah Gyan recently indicated that he will take legal action against Montie FM host, Mugabe for defamation and peddling lies. The radio show host is said to have alleged that the footballer was a financier of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), adding that Gyan had imported arms and machetes to support the NPP’s campaign.
