Five ways to become smarter

Smart people are those who spend their time wisely on productive things and complete everything in a better way than others and in quicker time.

Smartness can open the door to innovation that can help people solve personal and global problems.

Being smart will make you work better, faster and even richer. Intelligence is always work in progress so you are never too late to add to what you already know.

Here are five things one can do to become smarter.

1. Read

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”-Dr. Seuss

Books are said to liberate the mind. Knowledge is power, and knowledge can be found in books. Reading is habit of successful people. To be smarter, one would have to read a lot to derive knowledge from  some of the most unique and brilliant people ever to live.

Reading helps your focus, concentration, memory, vocabulary, and creativity.

2. Be curious about almost everything.

It’s important to be curious about everything you come across. Find out more about the things you do not understand. Learning should not end once your education is complete. Learning should be an everyday process. Question everything.

3. Use the internet and watch documentaries

The internet is one of the world’s greatest learning tooling. It is an intelligence mine that everyone should exploit to become smarter.

Don’t focus on Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad alone; watch documentaries on Netflix and YouTube to expand your horizon.

4. Have diverse friends

Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you as a way to improve yourself.  Also, having diverse friends will expose you to different opinions and approaches to solving problems.

The tendency is to be attracted to people who similar to you , but there is the need to broaden your inner circle.

Exercise daily because physical exercises improve your brain's cognitive performance, increases its problem solving ability, and even boosts long-term memory. By spending 15 to 30 minutes on working out every day, you are on your way to becoming smarter.
