The Roads and Highway Committee in parliament is set to investigate how the newly constructed Dodo Pepesu Nwanta road has developed potholes.
According to the chairman of committee, Theophilus Tetteh Chai the committee will be visiting that stretch of the road to probe and independently find out the extent of the damage.
“We will be going to find for ourselves as to what has been the condition of the road network,” he told Joy FM in an interview.
The President John Dramani Mahama had earlier lauded the contractor, Messrs Oumarou Kanazoe Contractors Limited of Burkina Faso, for constructing “perhaps one of the best quality roads in Ghana today.”
But barely three months after it was commissioned, Joy News investigations revealed the road constructed at the cost of €25.9 million by the Burkinabe contractor, Oumarou Kanazoe has nine potholes affecting motorists.
