Election 2016: Kofi Annan warns against vote buying

Former UN secretary general, Kofi Annan has charged Ghanaian voters not to trade their votes for money ahead of the November elections.

According to Kofi Annan, as a result of the economic hardships of most voters , it becomes easier to buy their conscience with money. However, he stressed that since elections are crucial in deciding the future of the country, citizens must vote based on issues.

The comments of Kofi Annan at the CDD lectures in Accra comes on the back of vote buying by most politicians during elections periods.
