The Progressive People's Party (PPP) will be demonstrating in the Effutu Constituency of the Central Region over government's plan to privatise the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Director of Operations for the party, Nana Ofori Owusu in an interview with Citi FM said the proposed plan will be of no benefit to Ghanaians.
“Tomorrow protesters are coming out in their numbers. We are also going to demonstrate against our MP who voted for the sale of ECG and did not consult us. We are already paying astronomical prices in relation to ECG bills and now this,'' he revealed.
This will be second demonstration against the planned takeover. Last week, workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in some regions also demonstrated over the proposed plan, arguing that the move can lead to job losses.
