Led by the Eastern Regional women organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Evelyn Korang, protesters described the comments by the MP as distasteful and an affront to the dignity of women in the country. The group afterwards converged on the forecourt of the Eastern Regional coordinating council, where a petition was presented to the regional minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong.
