Two chiefs in the Eastern region have pledged their unflinching support for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo who is seeking to annex power in the upcoming general elections.
The two are Osabarima Agyeman Boasia II, chief of Boso, in the Asuogyaman constituency and Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II, chief of the Akyem Akrofufu traditional area.
Nana Addo was given the assurance during his campaign of the region over the weekend.
Osabarima Agyeman Boasia II believes a Nana Addo presidency will spur on Economic growth and in particular development in his traditional area of Boso.
Also, Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II, Chief of the Akyem Akrofufu said: “we pledge to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that, just as we have always done, whether in rain or in sunshine, day or night, we, the chiefs and people of Atiwa, back and support him fully in this year’s elections.”
Meanwhile, chiefs have been advised to resist the temptation to jump into partisan politics warning it will damage their reputation.
According to the national house of chiefs it is wrong for chiefs to be seen or heard public supporting politicians.
