Ghana textiles company (GTP) has defended its product after rapper Sarkodie appeared to jab the African print in his recently-released Kanta song.
In the diss song targeted at M.anifest, Sarkodie dropped a line which attacked M.anifest’s fashion sense.
“Obi bɛ diss me a na ɛnyɛ rapper ɔde GTP ntoma pam kaba...Me no me rap yɛ authentic” to wit: “If someone would diss me, it shouldn’t be a rapper who uses GTP cloth to sow Kaba,” he said.
Some music enthusiasts have interpreted the line to be an attack on GTP textiles and have blasted Sarkodie for, according to them, despising an African fashion product.
GTP tweeted appeared to defend its product in a tweet on Sunday.
M.anifest had laughed off claims that Sarkodie was the king of rap in Ghana, proclaiming himself the best in the business.
